Maine office space is set to have a $4.8M renovation
Jonathan Arnold, of Arnold Development and Arnold Imaging in Kansas, has recently put forward a redevelopment proposal for a disused building in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine.
The plan for the former Moosehead Manufacturing furniture plant, an 85,000-square-foot city-owned space, has been preliminary approved giving Mr Arnold the option of buying the building.
The proposal involves the construction of houses, retail and manufacturing space, as well as new office buildings.
Mr Arnold is renowned in the area for co-developing various properties in Maine, such as two renovation projects on Main Street that transformed a 36,000-square-foot paper-recycling plant and the old Gallo building into refurbished office space.
The Moosehead plant has been closed for three years and the new proposal city comes as good news for the city, as they issued a request for redevelopment proposals.
It is serendipitous that Mr Arnold even knew of the redevelopment request, as he only heard of the plans while visiting friends and family in Maine during the summer.
Commenting on the Moosehead development Mr Arnold said, “Having done the two projects (on Main Street), I knew what it would take to renovate it.”
As well as the office space Mr Arnold also intends to build a green jobs incubator that would train workers in alternative power solutions, such as geothermal, wind and solar energy.
With these plans already set in motion Mr Arnold is set to make a big impact on Maine, increasing office space and employment opportunities, as well as promoting environmentally friendly office based solution.
